PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy Policy
Growlogue respects your plant records and your private space. We keep data on your device wherever possible and request permissions only when a feature needs them.
1. Information handled by the app
Growlogue lets you save plant names, optional species names, photos, notes, record dates, and basic image details such as file type and dimensions. This information is used only to provide the app's plant journal, timeline, image-saving, and sharing features.
2. Local storage and no automatic collection
Your plant records and photos are stored in the app's private storage on your device. Growlogue does not require an account or operate a server that receives this content. The app does not automatically collect your IP address, device identifiers, usage activity, location, analytics, or advertising data. It does not include advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking SDKs.
3. Camera and photo permissions
Growlogue asks for camera access only when you choose to take a plant photo. The system photo picker is used when you choose an existing image. Photo-library access is requested when you ask to save an original photo or a generated share image. The app does not request location permission or use photo metadata to determine your location. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
4. Sharing and third parties
Growlogue sends content off your device only when you explicitly use the operating system's share sheet or save an image to a destination you choose. The operating system, photo library, or third-party app you select then handles that content under its own privacy policy. We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Support communications
If you contact us for support, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and any device or system details you choose to provide. We use this information only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. It is kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. You may ask us to delete a support conversation unless we must retain it by law.
6. Retention and deletion
Local records remain on your device until you delete a record, delete a plant, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling normally removes data in the app's private storage, subject to your operating system's backup and restore behavior. Copies you save to your photo library or send to another app must be deleted from those locations separately. Because we do not receive your local records, we cannot access, recover, or delete them for you.
7. Security
Growlogue relies on the operating system's private app storage and permission controls to protect local data. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so you should protect access to your device and keep separate copies of important photos when appropriate.
8. Children's privacy
Growlogue is a general-audience plant journal and is not specifically directed to children. App records are not transmitted to us. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, a parent or guardian may contact us to request its deletion.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Growlogue's features or data practices change. We will post the revised policy here and change the effective date. If a future feature introduces accounts, cloud sync, analytics, or other off-device collection, we will update this policy before or when that feature becomes available.
